Day 1 Spiritual Talk: Gifts of the Holy Spirit by Fr Philip Tay, OCD
Day 2 Spiritual Talk: Fruits of the Holy Spirit by Fr Nicolas Hoh, OCD
The Chapel of Kristus Aman celebrated its Feast Day, which coincided with the Solemnity of Pentecost. The triduum in preparation for the Feast Day was held from 22nd to 24th May 2026.
To enrich the spiritual experience of the faithful, Chapel Administrator Rev. Fr. William Michael invited Carmelite priests Fr. Nicholas and Fr. Philip to preside over the celebrations. Fr. Nicholas presided over the Mass on the first day, while Fr. Philip presided over the second day and the Feast Day Mass, concelebrated by Fr. William Michael, Fr. Simon, and Fr. Michael.
Following Mass on the first two days, the priests delivered spiritual reflections on the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit, providing parishioners with valuable insights into the mysteries and workings of the Holy Spirit.
On the Feast Day, 24th May 2026, Mass was celebrated at 4.30 p.m. With the necessary permits obtained from the relevant authorities, a solemn candlelight procession of the Blessed Sacrament took place immediately after the Prayer after Communion. The procession, accompanied by approximately 300 parishioners, journeyed some 700 metres around the neighbourhood surrounding the chapel before returning for Adoration and Benediction.
Many residents and neighbouring business owners came out to witness this public expression of the Catholic faith. They stood respectfully in silence, taking photographs as the Blessed Sacrament passed by.
It was truly an evening marked by unity and love, filled with splendour, joy, and even favourable weather. The Lord's presence was certainly felt throughout the celebration.
A special Thanks to Fr. Simon Lau for generously offering the float from JCC and their parishioners who assisted in setting up and driving the truck to tow the float.
As part of the Feast Day festivities, parishioners gathered later that evening for a Feast Day Dinner themed "Unity & Love", organised by the Pastoral Council, with the youth taking the lead in coordinating the evening's programme.
A highlight of the dinner was a surprise celebration marking the 20th Sacerdotal Anniversary of Fr. William Michael. Completely unaware of the plans, Fr. William was deeply touched by the gesture. The parishioners took the opportunity to express their gratitude and affection for his years of dedicated service. A beautifully decorated cake and a large commemorative card signed by parishioners were presented to him.
Fr. Philip offered a special blessing for Fr. William Michael, while Fr. Simon and Fr. Michael led the gathering in a traditional sacerdotal song in an African language. The evening concluded on a joyful note as young and old alike took to the dance floor, enjoying classic songs led by Bob and his team.
Truly, this celebration was a moment of grace—awakening hearts to personal conversion, deepening faith, and strengthening the bonds of unity within the Body of Christ.
